Legacy
Legacy is a fund-raising program of the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation. It is also a program to document ordinary citizens who have made contributions to their communities in their lifetime.
S.U.C.C.E.S.S., being a social services organization rooted in the assistance of new and established Canadians for more than 30 years in Vancouver, is interested in documenting particularly the lives of members in the community.
Through its social actions in the last thirty years, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has created a community legacy through the efforts of volunteers. In short, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. wishes to continue to create a community legacy, a legacy created by individuals in their pursuit of their own legacies during their lifetimes.
Legacy program will establish a website and a publication that eventually will become a massive historical archive of community members’ personal legacies. The archive is accessible not just at any time of the day, BUT ALSO INTO THE FUTURE for descendants to view and access. The donated fund will remain in the Foundation forever and only the interest generated will be used by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. in their services to the community.
Upon a donation to the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. foundation, a team of staff or volunteers will conduct interviews with the donor to prepare materials for publication on the web and in book form (a binded album). Each donor naturally will have full control of the content – be it brief or detailed. A running account of how funds from the account have been used will be accessible on the site. The donor, friends, relatives or descendants may replenish the account at any time.

Ways to Donate to Maximize Tax Benefit
Create a Legacy for the Community is a program of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation to encourage charitable donations through planned giving.
Planned giving allows you to leave a gift to the Foundation that will create a lasting legacy while optimizing your tax and other financial benefits.
Below are some common ways to make such a gift..
Will Bequests
Will bequests provide valuable tax relief for your estate and you decide exactly what you want the Foundation to receive.
Life Insurance
A small investment in life insurance allows you to leave a substantial legacy to the Foundation. You will receive tax receipt for the premiums you pay and for the cash value of the policy.
Gifts-In-Kind
Gifts may be in several forms, including real estate or securities. A tax receipt will be issued for the fair market value.
There is no capital gains tax on gifts of publicly traded securities to the Foundation. In addition, the charitable tax credit will offset tax on other income.
Charitable Remainder Trusts
When you transfer assets (cash, securities, or property) to a trust for the Foundation, either you, or a designated person of your choice, will receive a guaranteed income either for life or for a specified period of time.
When the trust ends, the principal becomes your gift to the Foundation. A tax receipt is issued for the value of your gift that the Foundation will receive in the future.
Charitable Gift Annuities
An annuity provides both a gift to the Foundation and guaranteed regular payments to you for life. Depending on age, a major portion of the income may be tax-free.
Endowments
Your gifts to the Foundation may be endowed. The principal is invested and the interest it generates benefits various community programs and services in perpetuity. There is a possibility of establishing a named endowment.
Other Gift Options
For other planned giving options, please contact S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation or consult your financial or estate planning advisor.
