Another challenge I face is that my teeth are not in good condition, making it difficult to chew food, which affects my nutritional intake and leads to physical decline and weakness in my legs. However, I do not enjoy eating pureed food. The nurse suggested that I try a combination of half-pureed and half-soft foods, such as fish and tofu, along with other soft foods. With a nutritious breakfast, my physical strength has gradually improved, allowing me to participate in various activities.
After I had a fall, I felt that both my legs were weak, and I feared falling while walking. The staff encouraged me and arranged for a physical therapist to assess me and teach me strengthening exercises. The activity staff also provided me with a cycling machine and assisted me daily with leg exercises. The care staff accompanied me to and from the dining hall and my suite, helping me participate in various activities. Their wonderful support gradually increased my confidence in mobilizing on my own.
It is undeniable that the activities at Harmony House are truly diverse and vibrant. We have card games, riddles, singing, performances of various types, and mahjong. The daily entertainment is rich and brings smiles to all the residents. I feel very grateful and satisfied living in Harmony House. It is indeed the perfect place for me to age in place.
